…and don’t let me catch you ADDING tons of sugar and fat, making a banana bread and devouring the whole thing yourself…I’m watching you! Unpeal that poor, unwanted, over-ripe banana, break it into chunks and freeze it in a baggie just like this:
Yummy, frozen, over-ripe banana chunks. Now what?
Save the frozen, over-ripe bananas to make a delicious breakfast smoothie like the one I make. And guess what peops? I don’t add expensive powders and potions and I am loaded with energy. I am also loaded with the urge to go potty too, which I will discuss again shortly…you know me, I’m not to shy with the TMI stuff!
Bethy’s awesome energizing, low-fat, nutrient-dense smoothie:
Slice and freeze a banana. (Obviously you can freeze a lot more, but just use about a banana’s worth for your shake.)
Put frozen slices, along with frozen (or fresh) berries, which are loaded with cancer-fighting antioxidants, into a blender and cover with your fav milk. I prefer low-fat dairy milk because I have no intolerance to it and it’s much higher in protein than all of all the “nut” milks. (Read the label for yourselves.) Sometimes I substitute a combination of plain Greek yogurt (15 grams of protein per serving and loaded with probiotics ) and almond milk, just for variety and because it’s so low calorie.
Optional: Add 1 teaspoon of natural store-made peanut or almond butter (Make sure the nut is the ONLY ingredient!) I also throw in a teaspoon of chia seeds which are chock full of nutrients and one of the only complete proteins in the meatless world. BTW I am SO not a vegetarian; that is not my motivation for eating chia seeds!
The Asset Queen’s shake is delicious, nutritious, satisfyingly filling, and less than 350 kcals! Oh, and there is something about frozen bananas that will make your bathroom experience such a pleasure! I know, TMI again, but you know me…I have no problem discussing my quick and easy visits to the toilette’! Just sayin’!
