I'm giving you tips to add more movement to your life. Here's my latest:

Put on your favorite music and bop around like an idiot for 30 minutes.

Who cares how silly you look?  (I look like that all the time, so don’t worry!)

Try this right now: Pace don’t plop!

When you have to make a phone call, is this you?

Try this right now. Instead of plopping your assets down on the nearest chair, get up, pace around, march in place, pick up the Windex or bathroom cleaner and “wipe” while you’re talking. I don't care how you move; just move! 

Instead of plopping, do this:

The next time you have to make a call, do this for at least 10 minutes and then when you hang up the phone, come back here and leave me a comment to let me know how much better you feel.

Try this right now: T-E-N-S-I-O-N release walk

I’m including lots of helpful tips in my upcoming book, Move Your Assets: From the chair not the bank! They’re called “Try this right now.”

These tips are so good, in fact, that I thought I’d share them with you here (and to get you as excited about this book as I am!).

For example, here's something you can try right now:  My T-E-N-S-I-O-N Release Walk.

First, jot down a list of all the things on your mind right now: the “have to do’s,” the “want to do’s,” and all the people who are pissing you off at the moment.

Put the list in your drawer or purse and leave it there. 

Now go for a 20-minute walk.  For the first few minutes, do this as you’re moving: Squeeze your hands into a tight fist while spelling out the word “T-E-N-S-I-O-N” in your head.

Make sure you’re not holding your breath! Then release your hands while saying “release” in your head (you don’t have to spell that out).  Keep walking as you do.

Repeat this 10 or more times until you actually feel more relaxed. How do you know if you’re more relaxed? Your senses will become more clear and you’ll become more aware of your surroundings. For example you may smell or hear things that you hadn’t a few minutes ago. I’m not kidding; try it yourself. 

Ok you’re more relaxed, and maybe it took 15 minutes, but keep going! You still have another 5 minutes! 

Enjoy all the new ideas and happier thoughts that are now flooding your brain and you just can’t help it!  By the time you come home, you don’t care about that list anymore, do ya? And if you do, it’s a lot easier to address now, isn’t it?

To top it off, you just burned a few extra calories without making that your focus. Isn’t it amazing what 20 minutes of moving can do?
