It's Mother’s Day and like every other Sunday, I started the morning with my running/walking routine, on the Seminole/Wekiva Trail that I live on. (I know, isn’t that awesome?)
My path leads me “conveniently” to Panera Bread and Peach Valley (an awesome restaurant for breakfast and lunch) should I chose to partake…but of course I usually don’t.
It’s amazing to me, however, how many people actually do flock to these restaurants, especially on special occasions like Mother’s Day! I was flabbergasted at the amount of people standing (mostly sitting) in line this morning, Holy Cow!
And then it hit me like a ton of bricks (don’t worry, not literally): People work hard to schedule appointments that require no activity…such as eating at restaurants or even getting their nails done (not the guys, so much, on the latter LOL).
We will call to make reservations, or sit around for an hour with a beeper waiting for our name to be called for a table (only to sit on our assets even more). In fact we look forward to this all week in celebration of a special occasion.
I love going to restaurants, too, but the fact is that more than 2/3 of our fellow Americans are overweight and this includes your kids!
So why can’t you schedule a Mother’s Day gathering and walk the trail, or play tag (or “Ringolevio” if you’re from NY!)? Everyone will have fun and everyone benefits! You can even walk to your favorite restaurant if you have to.
On a good note, I did see more mommies than usual biking and walking on the trail with their families. Maybe they are catching on to the Move Your Assets lifestyle!
