August 3, 2010 The Asset Queen

So don’t listen to me. Listen to a medical school dean, okay?

You know how I always tell you to move it?

To “take steps to take steps”?

To avoid drive thrus…

To fidget while you cook or talk on the phone…

To bring your shopping cart back to the store instead of leaving it in the parking lot…

In general, to MOVE YOUR ASSETS!

So if you don’t want to listen to me, listen to the dean of the new medical school at the University of Central Florida.

This week UCF debuts its $65 million state-of-the-art medical-education
building. Here’s Dean Deborah German explaining why she wanted
the building designed the way it is.

If you walk up the stairs from the first floor [in the new med school],
cross the length of the second floor, and keep climbing and walking all
the way up, then go back down the same way, you walk about 1K, or about
2,000 steps.  It takes 12 minutes.

We so often feel trapped behind our
desks.  So I’ve challenged everyone, if nothing else, to do 1K a day.

I’m glad the dean of a med school agrees with me, LOL.  (She must read this blog.)

The whole idea of this new building is to get med students to move it!  What do I always say?  (Like here and here.) When in doubt, move those assets!

And if you don’t believe either of us, ask the person on the table in this photo of UCF’s new anatomy lab—who should have taken my classes!
